This is really a very good effort of collection of information from the history of great Rajputs. Kachhwah Kings did great job during medieval period of Indian History. Kachhwah Kings claimed their relation with Kachchhap, Kurm, Kachchha, Kachhua before accepting mythological origin from Kush, an indirect son of Lord Ram. Theory of origin from Kush became popular after popularization of ‘Ram Charit Manas’ written by Tulsidas, based on ‘Ramayana’ of Sage Balmiki similar to other contemporary Rajput Kings who accepted their origin from different superhuman characters of Ramayana and Mahabharata. Kachchhap, Kurm, Kachchha, Kachhua all have same meaning Tortoise or Turtle. Due to Kachchha or Kurm, Kachhi and Kurmi castes are given these names similar to other contemporary Kshatriyas like Matsya (Fish), Maurya (Peacock), Nag (Cobra), Singh (Lion) etc. In Hindu religion, tortoise (Kachchha or Kurm) is given much respect and is worshiped as Kachchha-avatar or Kurm-avtar (Tortoise incarnation of Lord Vishnu). In Satyuga, during Ocean Churning (Samudra Manthan), Lord Vishnu took the form of turtle (Kachchha or Kurm) and bore the mountain on his back. There are many temples dedicated to second incarnation of Lord Vishnu i.e. Kurm or Kachchha incarnation.
It is matter of great objection to write Kachhwah Rajputs as Tortoise Killer. Kachchhapaghata has its clear meaning as a Kachchhap (Tortoise) that can bear Aaghat (attack). There is no rocket science in getting the meaning of Kachchhapaghata. It is Kachchhap + Aghat. We all know that a tortoise is shielded by a shell and can bear attack by this protective shell. The great Kachhwah Kings could not do mean work of killing tortoises that were worshiped by their ancestors. Killing tortoise is not a work of bravery. To write them as Tortoise Killer is not only an act of demeaning our kin caste Kings but also an act of playing with sentiments of Hindus. No real Kachchha Kshatriya (Kachhi), real Hindu and real Buddhist can accept this version about our great ancestors. Please stop humiliating our ancestors and our great Suryawanshi Kshatriya caste.
Peace Incarnation of Lord Vishnu, Shakyaprabhu Buddha says right – “Any scripture should not be accepted till it is felt true by experience, logic and knowledge. He emphasized correct understanding of accepted scriptures. He said that if any great person is saying anything that should not be accepted without thinking logically over it.” Shakyaprabhu Tathagat Buddha said – ‘App Dipo Bhav’ means ‘Be your lamp for yourself’.
